I thought I would share a bit about my birthday...I have to say that it was probably my best birthday yet. In the past, I have always had school or work to go to on my special day...unless it was on a Sunday. And twice I had morning sickness...barfing and at the toilet (not fun). Not this year. I was happy, healthy and free. Evan was home too (thanks to Hurricane Ike). Isn't that great?!!
After breakfast Ev, Cardston and I headed to the mall to shop. My favorite!!! Ev's mom watched Brampton for us. Before we left, she told us to be home at noon for a special lunch she was going to make for us. Pretty normal...she loves to cook and makes great food. I found a couple of things while shopping...like a $4 shirt at Aeropostale. I love deals!
When we returned home for lunch there were several cars in the driveway and street. What was that all about? I was really surprised. I realized that Evan and my mother-in-law had been up to something. She had put a big lunch party together for me. She invited several gals from the ward that I was friends with while we lived here. Thanks for coming guys!!! I had no idea. I was so shocked. We had chicken salad sandwiches on croissants...yummy strawberry and spinach salad...a delicious drink...and to top it off....cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory (you can't get much better than that).
After lunch, Evan took me out shopping again! What an awesome husband, huh? Seriously! This man loves to shop. I love it. I also have a great mother-in-law that watched Brampton pretty much all day long. It was nice to go do stuff without our crazy little boy. We headed to Grapevine Mills Mall. It's the coolest mall I have ever been to. Mainly b/c there are so many great places inside it. And many of them are outlets. I found stuff at Gap Outlet and Abercrombie and Fitch Outlet (pants for $20). Ev found a couple of shirts at Hollister Outlet.
Evan and I went out to eat to at one of my favorites...Chipotle. Unfortunately, there isn't one down on the island (have to take advantage while I'm close to one).
I have to say (just so I can remember) that it was finally nice to be able to buy clothes. I haven't purchased REGULAR clothes for myself in a while. Reasons being...pregnancy. When I did buy clothes...they were maternity. So this was a treat.
Thanks to everyone who called me...facebooked me...left comments...emailed me...visited me...or sent me cards/gifts! You all made my day all the more special. Thanks to Brampton for making me breakfast and being so cute. Thanks to Cardston for the many smiles you shared with me. Thanks to Ev's mom for the decorations...flowers...breakfast...the party...lunch...and taking care of my little boy. And lastly, thanks to you Evan. I had so much fun shopping with you and just chatting about stuff. Thanks for making my birthday a special day. I love YOU!!!

Your post made me giggle a little. Not because of anything you did, but because I was contrasting it to my birthday this past Sunday. Besides the fact that it was a Sunday, my husband was puking with diarhea all day. LOL!! Fun times. Needless to say, nothing to post about. :-) Happy belated birthday, by the way!
I'm glad you had such a great day and that I could come celebrate a little with you! :)
That sounds like the best birthday ever! I'm so glad you got to enjoy yourself like that! And talk about Mother-in-law of the year! You deserved a special day, things have been so crazy for you all. Have a good conference weekend! :)
