Memory Tag

I saw this "tag" game on one of my BYU friends and thought it sounded like fun.

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

I remember girls camp with you and youth conferences! Gosh, it's been a long time since we've really hung out!! Sometimes I miss the good old Olathe Stake days!!!

okay, here's my favorite one...when you, me and kaylene stayed at grandma and grandpa's house (i don't know how old you were but i had just graduated from 8th grade) and we stayed up all night talking and i showed you pictures of my jr high boyfriends and then that one day we went to the mall and ended up getting lost and grandpa got really mad and when he finally found us he said "if i had a gun i would shoot you!" and we were all freaked out because how often has anyone ever seen grandpa get mad?? HAHA. good times.

or...runner up memories: college dinners at grandma's house, or when we went to lake powell together and slept inside the boat while all the big kids got to sleep up on the roof. :) oh steph we've had fun together...i miss you!

Okay, one of my favorite memories with the family is the Christmas that we were all together at the house. We stayed up late every night playing games-- water drinking Uno, Scum, Catch Phrase. You kept trying so hard to shock everyone by the slightly crude comments you would make. I think I was the only one suprised-- everyone else thought you were hilarious!!! ;o)

I remember you were Isabel's first nursery leaders. We told you and Evan how much Isabel loved books and each week when we would bring her you also had a shopping cart full of books waiting for Isabel. You would come right up to her when we walked in the door and tell her about the books you had for her. I remember truly understanding how significant a calling in the nursery is. You and Evan impressed me and Russ with how much you truly cared about our little girl and went out of your way to make her feel welcome.

I remember you hanging out with my sister at girls camp and other church activities and that you were really nice to me (which I really appreciated because some of Natalie's other friends treated me a lot like I was just the annoying little sister...which is probably how I acted sometimes :o) but you were so nice and always said hi to me.
I also remember loving your hair color and thinking that your last name was SO cool!

Okay so let me try and remember this correctly. You, me, Lindsey Long and I think Michelle was in the car driving back to Olathe from a Lenexa Stake dance and we got dirt or bird poop or something on your parents black accord that you were driving and you were kinda freaking out that your parents would be upset if you took the car home dirty so we drove it through the car wash. I remember all of us were emptying our wallets to get the correct change amount to pay for the car wash. I think that was the night we were jamming to Vanilla Ice. You'll have to correct me if I got the story wrong. IT's been a long time and my memory fails more times then I wish.

Alright, so I've probably known you the least of anyone, but the one thing I remember most is when you offered to bring us dinner right after I had Gaven. You didn't just bring dinner, you brought appetizers, salad, dinner, drink, dessert and I think even snacks for the next day. You're incredible, and I'll never forget your generosity!

Aaron remembers you walking home from class or work(?) pretty much everyday in Wymount and you would see him sitting on our balcony reading and feeding the ducks. To this day he says that you probably thought he was psycho. I remember seeing you all the time and thinking you were so pretty and had the best hair! I always wish we would have hung out more when we were in Utah. I was jealous that Aaron got to get to know you guys because he was your home teacher:)

Nothing really specific, but I *think* I was your visiting teacher for a month at BYU. Actually, it might have been a RS Presidency visit to your apt. when you first moved in. Something like that. I remember you being quite young and fresh-faced and blushing easily. So sweet!
Fun game!

I remember you as a very shy little girl growing up that I had to really coax to not be afraid of me. My favorite grown-up Stephanie memory is when you were at BYU and getting ready to move into your new apartment. You didn't know who any of your new roommates were going to be and I asked you if you were nervous or scared and your reply floored me. You said, "Aunt Caryn, why would I be scared? They will all be members of the church so I don't have to worry." I was just so impressed with your response. And you were right. It all worked out, you met Evan there, and the rest is history...

Where do I begin? My favorite is when dad hid in your closet forever and scared you. Priceless. He didn't scream or anything, he just kind of came out of the closet and you screamed and just started to fall over. Of course he caught you as you were falling.
Another favorite, one of your proms where I was trying to fix your dark blue prom dress and I just kept making it worse (sorry by the way). You were sooo stressed, course, I can understand.
All of our life, you were always the quiet shy little Steph, who was there but always off to the side. I've always felt bad about that.
Oh, I remember another one. When we were at the dunes and for some reason the parents let us go by ourselves on the ATC and we ran out of gas, or something. We were quite a distance and I decided it would be better if you walked back to camp to tell dad we ran out of gas. As I have thought about that moment it gives me chills just thinking what could have happened and then come to the conclusion we should have walked back together. I just thought dad would be more angry if we had left that machine there. When we are kids we have a totally different perspective on things.
Of course there are many many many other memories that have been so fun with you Steph. Wish we lived close together with our families.
Love you!

Here's one for you...I remember one crazy night in Liberty Square when we all decided to dance to a John Mayer song on the kitchen table. I think the song was "Your body is a wonderland". So we were all dancing on the kitchen table and moved into the living room and were dancing our hearts out (I think there's still a video of that night somewhere) when some guys from the ward barged into the living room. They had been watching us from the parking lot (because we were dumb and left the blinds open). We all shrieked and ran back into our bed rooms. Or what about 3rd grade, Tomahawk Elementary school...dancing to "Too legit to quit" in our hot tie dyed shirts. We were hot.

I think my favorite memory of you is when you told us in a RS lesson that what you had wanted for so long was finally going to happen (you were going to have a baby)! That is always such wonderful news, especially when you know they will love the baby so much and be such a great mom :) You always gave such sweet, heart-felt lessons.

mannn there are just too many to list here...i'd have to say studying for our physics test in my room and we had taco bell, and of course that led to us stinking up the room :) and then there was riding our bikes to 7 eleven, when u worked at briarwood pool i hung out with you there almost everyday you worked, this is a funny one.. you and jum always wanted me to drive the lil white truck cuz i always had to relearn how to drive stick shift, going to all your stake dances and waiting on the side while you slow danced with various boys :)how we kept trying out for OE's drill team and didn't make it, and your dad was sooo sweet to take us out to fancy plaza III for dinner and had roses delivered to us...man this could go on forever...i miss you!! once things settle down i sooo need to visit, love YOU!!

I remember when I was in junior high...Whenever NSYNC was popular...You were totally in love with Justin Timberlake. Coming over to your house to hang out with Brittany and going downstairs you had posters everywhere on your walls. I thought that was the coolest thing ever. Mostly because my parents wouldn't let us hang anything on the walls...Lame.

Awe, I remember when I was in Provo visiting Jenny, and we went over and hung out at yalls apartment. And we played a game (I don't remember the name of the game) but we marked all over eachothers faces!
