A little update on our family...

I haven't posted anything about Evan in a long time. I'm sure many of you are wondering how he's doing with his first year of medical school (by the way...only 2 weeks left). The main reason for the lack of updates on him is b/c he told me he didn't want me to post about him. Silly guy! He's a little shy. Anyway...Ev is doing very well. I think he is a little burnt out with school...which is to be expected. Who wouldn't be? Man...he truly deserves the break coming up here in a couple of weeks. I'm excited for him. He actually has a two month break!!! He is taking the first month off to have a baby (well, support me as I do all the work)...and enjoy being a father of TWO. The second month he is going to be busy doing a preceptorship in Orthopedic Surgery. Overall, even though very busy, he is doing very well! Four more tests and then he's all ours for a little while!!! I am so proud of him!!!
On Fridays we always go and rent a movie from the Red Box! We call it our movie night. While looking at all our options Brampton spotted the Bee Movie and clicked on it! Ev and I started laughing...how does he know how to work the machine?? He's too smart. Anyway...we decided that it was probably his turn to pick the movie (we always decide). I pulled out the card...Brampton grabbed it out of my hands and swiped it. Evidently he has seen me swipe my card way too many times!! It was pretty funny. He really wanted the Bee Movie (btw...he loves bees). It was pretty comical. So here's a picture of the little dude way into the movie....he stayed in this position the whole time. He eventually moved closer and closer to the TV too. Talk about uncomfortable...
After the movie was over he kept signing "more". I think he watched it two more times the next day before we returned it.

I'm posting this picture b/c someone got a haircut! Yep, I chopped it all off. It was just getting way too long and out of control (really snarly in the back). I used clippers and was able to get him to hold still by can you guess....putting the Bee Movie on. That sure made it a whole lot easier. It's not the best...but I think it looks nice and clean. He looks so grown up!

Well...Brampton had his follow-up appointment with the pediatrician and the fluid behind his ear is still there. Yes, we are still battling with this. We have now been referred to the ENT doctor. It's official. As to what will be decided...we have no idea. But if it means tubes...we are fine with that. I just don't want my poor kid to have fluid in his ears and eventually lose his hearing b/c of it (yes, that can happen). He was referred to another speech therapist here at UTMB. We have our first appointment on Friday. Ok...let me just tell you that our family has been having way too many doctors appointments lately. Will the craziness ever end??

It's overwhelming at times but, I am grateful for them. All the doctors we have seen for Brampton have been great in trying to answer our questions and find answers for us. Brampton is still not speaking. But we love him greatly. He truly is a sweet boy and I know that he is one special child of God. We know that Heavenly Father is aware of Brampton and loves him very much. This past weekend we had a little miracle happen...more of that to come.

As for me and our new little one...well I am now at 36 weeks and 3 days! Wow. I had an appointment this past week. Baby is doing well. Thank goodness. I had a little scare. I bent over to pick something up and was in immense pain. I even heard a funny noise. I was so scared that I crushed his head or something. Even worse...he didn't move for a little while. But as far as we know everything is ok. Doctor said his heartbeat is normal and sounds great. A sigh of relief and my fears were calmed. He is moving around and growing. My uterus now measures 35 centimeters. Oh and this was my first appointment where I had not gained weight!! Finally...I was getting a little worried. I am now an insomniac. Just kidding...but I don't get a very good nights rest. It all started about a week ago...yes, I try to take advantage of nap time! Thank goodness Brampton will still take naps for me.

Wow! You guys have a lot going on! I'm glad Evan has a break-- Brandon never got more than a week break for the entire 2 1/2 years!!! Crazy!!! You look darling and so does Brampton. My girls loved the Bee Movie, too.

Can I just say you look SO beautiful in that picture! When I get pregnant I want to look like that!

I'm so happy to hear that you have good doctors to work with Brampton and your family. I hope that the ENT is able to help and get the ball rolling on basically whatever needs to happen next.

Um I think you look cute! And I totally feel you on the worrying about crushing the baby. I always feel like I'm breaking the poor kid's neck every time I bend over.

You are looking great pregnant! As for the ear tubes- next week Sydney will be getting her third set. Since she was a baby, she has struggled with fluid in her ears (not ear infections.) She was a late talker because of it, but not anymore. The tubes worked great for her.

You look so cute! Good to hear the baby is okay. That can be so scary! I'm glad Evan will get a break to help with the baby. That will be so helpful. And Brampton sounds like a very observant and smart little boy! Funny the things you don't realize they are learning from you...

You make me ill!! That's you at 36 weeks?? I look like that now at 21 weeks. I hope everything looks up for the little man. My son isn't talking much either. He's 18 months. We've been having ECI come out every week. Have you thought about that? Email me if you have questions.

Can't believe Brampton knew how to pick out a movie and swipe the card. Too funny. They do grow fast--too fast. One day you will say "Where did the time go." You look cute pregnant. Can't believe Evan is almost done with his first year.
