So Evan was finally given a calling at church (I got mine a few weeks ago). When we moved into the Galveston Ward everyone told us that they are pretty good at putting you to work! Some even said they were given callings within a week of moving in. We figured that we would get that call right away. Surprisingly, it took a little while. After a month, I was asked to serve as the CTR 8 teacher! Of course I accepted the call right away! Who wouldn't want to teach little kids?? Especially someone who was studying elementary education. Anyway, my kids are great! I have 5 kids in my class. They are all so sweet. Today, we sat in front of one of my kids (Sunny) and she kept pointing out to her family that I was her new teacher. Tender! I love little kids and their excitement with simple things. Evan was asked today if he would serve as the 1st counselor in the Young Men's. He gladly accepted! I think he's pretty excited about it. Although, activities are on Wednesday nights and that happens to be one of his longer school days. So Brampton and I will hardly see him on those days. Sad.
As for Evan and his schooling...it's going pretty good. He has his FIRST TEST on FRIDAY! Yikes. He seems to be pretty calm about it. We'll see how the rest of the week goes. Brampton and I are loving UTMB's school schedule though. He is usually done by 2pm or earlier depending on the day. He studies for a few hours after that and he's home by 4 or 5 pm. He is doing pretty good at separating school life from home life. That way when he gets home he can just spend all of his time with us! I love it. Not too bad for medical school, huh?
