Seeing Red

Cardston's bum is BRIGHT RED. I guess that's the bad thing about starting solids...rashes! I have always used the Original Desitin with overnight relief (40% zinc oxide), but feel as though it isn't helping the problem like it should and it hasn't expired. Does anybody have an ointment they stand by??? Please fill me in!

i would normally tell you butt paste which works really well but i have a new favorite. i love bag balm. it's not specifically for diaper rash (it's actually used on horses a lot, but is safe for humans and babies) and it works miracles! it comes in a green tub and you can get it at target i know for sure. good luck!

Madie would get a really bad rash on her bum that nothing would work on because it was so raw. Our doctor told up about triple paste- and that is all we use now. It is super thick, so a little goes a REALLY long way, and it is a little more expensive, but it is worth every penny. Target carries it, and so do some of the drug stores. Good luck with the red bum. And Happy Holidays!

I have the besst thing ever!! I use it on tessa when she has a bad rash and hours or a day later is cleared of clearing up. You can get it a walgreens or CVS it is in a yellow tube with a red cap and its the original lanolin-rich ointment. Now here is the kicker it made for horse, cows and animals. BUT IT WORKS!!!!

Good luck, everyone has posted some really good tips for diaper rash. bag balm is good, aquaphor (found in lotion isle in jar) expensive, but works good, butt paste another good one and A&E good too. Good luck. Also, the best remedy is a bare bum for a couple hours, the air helps heal the rash, and helps it breath for a while without being suffocated in a diaper and cream. Also, I love your new blog layout! Very cute. Have a good weekend!

One of the NICU nurses also told me that bag balm is the best stuff for a diaper rash. She said it can heal anything!

I know this is late. Sorry. My site didn't update me on your recent entry! Anyways. . . one time Carter had a way bad rash and the nurse recommended anti-fungal cream and a bath with some baking soda. Also. . . I grew up with Bag Balm. We call it Sav. It works wonders on everything, even chapped lips. haha.
