Time out for Brampton is usually in the bathroom. I am not sure why...I guess it's usually the closest room with a door. Anyways...weird, I know. In the past he has not liked time out and would try his hardest to open the door. But he couldn't. He then figured out how to open the door and would walk right out. Not very effective. Now...he enjoys time out. He will sit on the toilet and un-roll the whole roll of toilet paper. Lovely. He has done it multiple times and we had no idea where he learned it. Until the other day...Curious George (the movie) is his favorite show. If you are familiar with it, you know that George undoes all the toilet paper in the man with the yellow hat's bathroom. Silly Brampton! Needless to say...time out is no longer in the bathroom. And if it is...we remove all the toilet paper.

u should try a "naughty chair" that's what we use for layne..he does stay in it and won't get down..
We sit our kids on the stairs. They have to stay sitting on the stairs until we say they're done. There's no toys on the stairs or really anything else to reach. It may even be more punishment since they can see all their toys still but can't play with them. It's hardest with the first child, but our Lucas has seen Travis have to do time out so many times that when we started putting Lucas in time out he knew all about it and how bad it was.
It's good to hear from you guys. Thanks for the comment. Looks like Brampton is doing well. My brother's boy has a speech delay too, but he started doing speech in pre-school and has made leaps and bounds. He's in Kindergarten now and speaks almost as well as the rest of the kids.
That's hilarious...I guess he's resourceful...:o)
That is hilarious! Kira unrolled the toilet paper once. We are trying having time out on their bed. They have to stay on their bed. We'll see how it works.
That's hilarious!!! What a funny boy! Ayva's tried to do that to the TP but she didn't get to finish it because I walked in and she knows now not to do it, although she still tries. The image of him just walking right out cracks me up!
So funny about the Curious George tp unrolling thing. My Sarah went through a phase where she did the same thing thanks to George. I'm glad that's over with! It was so frustrating!
