More Hurricane Talk

Thanks for every one's thoughtful comments. We sure appreciate all of them. This is a crazy time for us and it's nice to know how many of you are thinking and praying for us and everyone affected by Hurricane Ike.

Well...we received word from UTMB that school for Ev would not start up until October 6 (and that is even optimistic). Looks like this is going to be a long process. We just heard that they are letting people onto the island from 6am-6pm to check out their homes and such. We have several friends that are going down right now and they have said that it is unrecognizable down there. Stuff is everywhere. We heard that several families in our ward have 4 feet of water in their homes. My heart goes out to everyone!!! Our Elders Quorum President is going to go check out our place and possibly take pictures of it for us. Thank you, thank you. We checked out NOAA today and found that our garage is torn to pieces and possibly not even there. The owners called and told us the same thing. Ahh...so now we have been trying to apply for FEMA. Good old FEMA. But of course...it's almost impossible to get a hold of them. Lines are way too busy. We may try to drive down sometime this week and check it all out for ourselves and get some items that we need to survive for a little while.

My heart goes out to everyone. You all are definitely in our prayers. Hang in there!! We'll make it through all this mess.

Wow, What a mess. At least the family is safe. I cannot believe the damage that took place down there. I guess I will be seeing you at church for awhile, and dont feel bad about the slap, Abby wasn't even phased by it. Plus its payback for all the times she hit other kids, I am sure had brampton not hit her she would have hit him sooner or later....But I know how you feel as a mom.

That sounds awful. I hope most of your things made it.
