Doctor Visit #2: Project Launch

Today Brampton had an evaluation with a therapist from UTMB's Project Launch. It's an intervention service for young children with disabilities or delays. There were two therapist that came to our home. That made it nice...it's rough going to a doctors office and trying to entertain a kid for a long period of time. The whole meeting lasted 3 hours! Brampton did an awesome job!!!! I was so proud of him. They evaluated his cognitive, speech/language, self-help, motor (gross and fine) and social emotional development. He was pretty advanced in some areas (cognitive, self-help, and motor skills). He was average in others. The only one that was really behind (as we all know) is his speech/language. Thankfully, he is eligible for speech therapy. A therapist is going to be visiting 3x a month to come and work with him here at home! I am so excited about that. He needs extra help and it's even at our home. Hopefully, in the next 6 months we'll see some improvement!!!!

Stephanie - Traci showed me your blog tonight and it was fun to catch up with you guys a bit. Your husband and I have identical hair styles! That was great news about your son. All the best-

Wow, that's great news! And awesome that they can come to your home!

And about all the allergies and other stuff, I'm glad you have answers, but I feel so bad for your little guy! (and it'll be a challenge for you too!)

That's great! I've heard about that program before. I think it's so awesome that they set it up right in the home where the child can be themselves. Keep us posted! I'm sure you will see results very soon!

I am sorry he (and you) have to go through all that. I am sure it is going to be awesome to get some results. Poor little guy.

Hey Stouts! It's Aaron and Melissa Mitchell from Wymount! I don't know if you remember us, but Rachel Hreinson emailed me your blog. It looks like things are going well for you! I just had to comment on this post because I am now a Speech-Language Pathologist (I finished grad school in May) and I'm so sorry that you have to go through this with your son, but it's amazing that you get to have someone to come into your home! Anyway, good luck with everything!
